“Amino Covalent Binding Approach On Iron Oxide Nanoparticles Surface: Toward Biological Applications” was published in Colloids and Surfaces A: Phsysicochemical and Engineering. In this study, Nébéwia Griffete and her colleagues investigated functionalized magnetic nanoparticles (NPs) and their potential biomedical applications.

The researchers used a Brookhaven NanoBrook 90Plus Particle Size Analyzer to determine the electrophoretic mobility of the particles used in this study to attain ideal and precise data. The study described a very simple RT aqueous synthesis procedure, yielding biocompatible, individually dispersed iron oxide NPs suitable for biological applications with a covalent attachment dispersible in almost any solvent, especially water. The study resulted in a method that provided a possible design of stable, magnetic, nano-sized particles, and other applications for the synthesis of hybrid materials.
