Nanolytics, a German company offering service measurements of colloid systems to the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, has recently added Brookhaven Instruments BI-200SM Research Goniometer with a BI-9000AT Autocorrelator to its range of laboratory instruments. Dr. Kristian Schilling, who founded the company explained, ” I set up Nanolytics because of an increasing demand for a competent analytical service for small particle characterization. The goniometer is one of a number of analytical instruments we have that allows us to perform a range of analysis from: Service measurements on a particular method, up to full scale characterization of complex system.”
Brookhaven’s BI-200SM Research Goniometer provides Nanolytics with the means to determine molecular masses via static light scattering. It is also valuable for dynamic light scattering measurements when working with very small particles. The goniometer is equipped with a 2W Argon Ion laser that allows Dr. Schilling to take accurate measurements from particles with very weak scattering intensities, ” I appreciate the ease with which the laser and goniometer can be aligned. The adjustment procedure is straightforward, not too time-consuming and takes a matter of hours rather than days.
Dr. Schilling concluded, “I have always felt that Brookhaven is keen to help me get the instrument up and running. The representatives in Long Island provide support quickly and with a very good sense of humor.”
