The International Journal of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences presented a study entitled, “A Bio-Based Approach In Designing An Oral Drug Delivery System For Fluconazole”. In this study, M. Joyce Nirmala and her team applied the dynamic light scattering technique with Brookhaven’s NanoBrook 90Plus Particle Size Analyzer to characterize the tiny droplets resulting from the size reduction of fluconazole.
The researchers reported a simple encapsulation of the drug in an herbal oil based microemulsion system that provided for tiny droplets of fluconazole infused microemulsions. A system was developed that enhanced the solubility of fluconazole, which allowed the reduction of dosage concentration and provided biological safety for patients.
Dynamic light scattering is a technique widely used in the biomedical advances. Scientists and researchers utilize effective particle size analyzers to determine dynamic light scattering measurements of small particles and polymers. Brookhaven Instruments carries a sophisticated line of technologically advanced particle size analyzers including the NanoBrook 90Plus Particle Size Analyzer.
