Sr. Electrical Engineer
Reports to: Research and Development Manager
Position Summary
A recognized scientific instrumentation company is looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer who is a dynamic, self-starting individual with a strong engineering background, who will play a key role in developing leading edge particle characterization instrumentation. The ideal candidate will be based out of our office in Nashua, NH.
Key Responsibilities
- Devise innovative designs to advance the art and science of particle characterization
- Hands on electro-optical systems design, testing, and schematic layout
- Design, prototype, and test digital (primarily) and analog systems, components, and circuits
- Support the operations in evaluating failed or returned products and suggest design improvements
- Daily interfacing with individuals with expertise in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and software development
- Work with contract manufacturers to facilitate production of PCBs
- Consult with sales, marketing and select customers to further develop current products and initiate new product developments
Measure of Success
- Complete Assigned Tasks to the best practices including formatting & commenting to help with team collaboration and long-term stability and maintenance
- Accomplish Assigned Tasks in a Timely Manner
Education, Skills, and Experience
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree (advanced degree preferred) in Electrical Engineering
- 5+ years of working experience with integrated schematic capture and layout for PCBs for instruments and systems (Altium experience preferred)
- Superb benchtop rework and debugging skills
- Working knowledge of firmware development
- Experience producing and maintaining documentation for a formal Quality Management System
- Experience managing contract manufacturers for the production of PCBs
- Background in electro-optics devices
- Light scattering and/or SEC/GPC knowledge and experience a plus
